Google Buys YouTube

Google announced today that it would acquire YouTube for $1.65 billion in stock. YouTube will continue to operate independently, and Google Video will continue to operate as normal.

Plans about what the two companies will do together are vague, although Google's executives and YouTube's co-founders have sketched out "20-30" intersecting points of interest.

It's been a long day, with five content deals and one major acquisition. I'm tired. More tomorrow.

I just videotaped a rant on this. It's absurd. Will post as soon as the stupid thing finishes compressing. Do you find that the more bitter your video is the slower it compresses?
