Bride Wig Out is a fake, but who do we thank?

Fake YouTube vids are the Rorschach Tests of our time. For example, if you watched Bride Wig Out and immediately thought "fake" then congratulations, you're apparently a decent human being. If, on the other hand, you watched Bride Wig Out and the video immediately confirmed your belief that yes, not only do women have cooties, but also that pre-bridal women really are prone to meltdowns that would make Chernobyl look like a pilot light, then congratulations, you're a misogynist. No soup for you.

Either way you answered, turns out the video -- with about 3 million views by this point -- is a fake. And in real-life dramatic twist (drama drama drama!), multiple people are claiming responsibility.

According to Peter Howell, movie critic for the Toronto Star, the bride was played by Odi Behan, a 22-year-old aspiring actress living in Canada, and one of the bridesmaids was played by her real-life sister, Jessie.

But a Canadian  company called Sunsilk Hair Brand has also claimed responsibility. In a terse press release, the company says the video was only meant to "dramatize that "bad hair" is one of the challenges faced by young women, many of whom have experienced their own "wig-out" moments. It was never Sunsilk Canada's intent to portray anything other than a dramatization."

Riiiight.

The press release gives the number for Harbinger Communications in Toronto. I called earlier and left a message. No response yet.

If she had joined the Navy, she wouldn't have to worry about any of this useless drama.

In the Navy, they cut your hair for you.

Also, the Navy no longer hangs people by Yardarms.
