Don't break my heart, my AACS heart

Achybreakyheart

The folks who control the copy protection technology in Blu-Ray and HD-DVD discs are none too pleased today. After their DRM scheme, known as AACS, was broken a few months ago, they started sending cease-and-desist notices to sites who published the 128-bit integer that allows hackers to copy media from the discs. One of the targeted sites was popular news ranker Digg.com, which initially complied with the request but just yesterday reversed course, saying "if they sue us, they sue us."

Now, YouTube user keithburgun has posted a video that turns the integer into a song. "Oh nine, eff nine" -- a play on the integer's first two values, 09-f9 -- has been viewed almost 50,000 times and is one of the top movers on YouTube today. Hark! That's your business model dying.
