Hearst-Argyle TV in rev share with YouTube

Hearst-Argyle Television just became the first local television group to sign an ad revenue sharing agreement with YouTube. The exact terms of the deal weren't disclosed. Both companies are likely to sell advertising around the content, which includes news, weather and entertainment on five separate channels: KCRA, WCVB, WBAL, WTAE and WMUR.

The good news for H-A is they increase their potential distribution, although you wonder why -- with the exception of the New York affiliate and a few others -- they haven't previously invested more money in distributing video on their stations' web sites. H-A owns 26 television stations and is the largest affiliate of   ABC. The group reaches about 18% of U.S. households.
