Here Comes Another Bubble
I'm not usually one for tech market bubble talk. I was a chain-smoking English major and itinerant grape picker in Italy (truth) when the first bubble swelled. But I find tech bubble talk intriguing because it always seems so devoid of actual facts and figures. The reasoning, found in asides in blog posts and in comments below the fold, usually goes something like "of course there's a bubble! Duh! Have you seen the Porsche that Meebo guy's driving?!"
For a numbers-illiterate guy like me, it's refreshing to see market analysis almost completely based on anecdotal evidence. Of course there's informed discussion occurring in the WSJ and in other sober publications, but why read those when you can influence perception simply by hitting "publish."
Anyway. Below, a charming little music video, set to the tune of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire," about the ever-present specter of the tech market bubble.
