Panasonic 150" TV at CES

It is becoming an annual CES sideshow: Which company can create the biggest TV?Panasonic is in the lead by the looks of this plasma monstrosity (above). Not to be outdone, Sharp has a 108" LCD set (below)--enough to best Panasonic's wimpy 103" screen showcased at last year's CES.

Sure only a few thousands spendthrifts who have living rooms the size of Costco are going to cough up enough dough for one of these jobbies, but I wonder: Will the day actually come when, say, a 72" set becomes a fixture of the average home? No doubt we once looked at the 42" and laughed; now I'm addicted to mine.
