Hollywood online video startup spoofs Bush, Putin
A new Beverly Hills-based short film comedy site is using digital effects technology to superimpose the American and Russian chiefs' faces on a cabaret singing "Putin on the Ritz."
The Bush-Putin dancing video is the first original production from MiniMovie.com, which uses uses a technology called Famous Faces to map the celebrities' faces onto the screen. Founded by Russian film producer Dmitri Lesnevsky, MiniMovie plans to release similar original productions featuring Hillary Clinton and several actors, according to a representative. A similar technology, called 3D Videostar, which will ostensibly allow users to map their own faces onto films, was publicized by vid company Oddcast earlier this year.
Beyond spoofs, MiniMovie also accepts short film submissions (15 minutes or less), which it publishes in a YouTube-esque, social networking manner.

The technology isn't called Famous Faces but Star Imitation Systems and Mini Movie is based in Luxembourg, not Beverly Hills (though it does have an office in Beverly Hills).
