Mini-montages of 70s/80s/90s films

[via] Outside the Oscar montages (sadly tepid, in recent years), I've never seen film clips strung together so brilliantly as these: Films of the 70s, Films of the 80s, and Films of the 90s. The 80s montage is particularly stunning in its soundtrack synchronization -- listen for the symbols as Elias as shot in Platoon, and the drumbeat when Otto puffs away the panties on his face in A Fish Called Wanda. The YouTube user barringer82, who created these, has also created director compilations.

HOLOCAUST FILM CUT BY GREEK FILM CENTER

The development of the screenplay of a film for the Holocaust was turned down on May 30, 2006 by the current regime of the Greek Film Center, headed by former Theodoros Angelopoulos producer, George Papalios. The number of Submission was 122559. The film's title was "LAND OF ANGELS". It's story centers around a Jewish family in Lyon, France. The proposed film was based upon the novel of Michael Kokkinaris who wrote and published over fifteen novels so far.
In her rejection note "poetress" Maria Laina, a state employee and protege of former secretary of Culture Zahopoulos, who attempted suicide amidst a flurry of financial and sex scandals, calls the film "melodramatic, very romantic...The Holocaust again, the memories, the past".
Maybe she didn't get it that screenplays about the Holocaust are DRAMAS not COMEDIES.
