Lonelygirl15 finale tomorrow

By Andrew Wallenstein
God only knows when I last watched lonelygirl15, but you gotta tip your hat as this seminal Web series says its final goodbye Aug. 1 with the upload of its last 12 episodes. There's no denying this was as close as the Internet got to the TV equivalent of "I Love Lucy," meaning the first property to achieve some kind of mass appeal that shone a light on the medium. Now someone just has to top "LG15," and it just might be EQAL, the production company behind the hit. EQAL is looking to launch a new series that may be a spinoff of "LG15" in September. Given the timing--the beginning of the fall TV season--I'll bet there's some sort of TV tie-in with CBS, which has a first-look deal with EQAL. Stay tuned.

Wow, I didn't even know lonelygirl was still around, much less being promoted with slick futuristic promo pics. I'll have to check it out.
