Rob Schneider is out of his tree
No self-respecting celebrity should be without a pet charity. The problem is when Angelina, Brad, Madonna, et al have snapped up all the good causes, what's a star to do?
If you're Rob Schneider, there's no shame in fishing an obscure charity out of the remainder bin. He's championing the cause of--wait for it--Portuguese cork forests in a odd YouTube video released earlier this month that can be found at SaveMiguel.com.
Rather than just engage in a simple impassioned pitch to never consume wine with screw-top bottles--harvesting cork keeps these forests environmentally friendly--Schneider allows the camera to follow him on a wacky adventure to Portugal where he tells he needs to find Miguel. Except he doesn't know who Miguel is.
I won't ruin the surprise ending out of respect for what seems like the earnest effort of Schneider, but it's hard not to ask oneself just what the original "Male Gigolo" was thinking by choosing to pimp, of all things, cork forests.
